What He Painted...
Giovanni Bellini painted landscapes, and they were very beautiful. He enjoyed painting religious landscapes that were light in color. What he used for paint was called egg tempera. The egg tempera gave the painting more base and held make the art look more 3D. In his paintings he was very good at portraying outdoor light, it was one of the many things that he did well in his artwork.
He painted on a lot of different canvases, he painted on wood canvases and he painted on just normal paper canvases and sometimes, he even paints onto one canvas and the he transfers it to a different one, for example, he did that for his painting that was called, "Madonna With the Saints"
In 1497 it was one of his best years of painting. He painted seven of the best paintings ever, but it just so happens that in 1577 they were all destroyed in a fire.
